Going loco for the Glasgow comedy festival
Comic Kate Hammer performs on a train
Comedian Kate Hammer has got train passengers to take part in a silly quiz to promote Glasgow International Comedy Festival.
The stand-up asked travellers between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street to imitate a train as part of a sponsorship deal with Lumo.
She said: ‘Telling jokes on a train has been on my bucket list for years, and I was ecstatic to finally make this dream a reality.
‘I love the GICF, so it was an honour to spread the word and the laughs, and let more people know about the newest way to get to Glasgow and join in on the fun!’
Festival sponsorship head Michael Bochel saod: ‘Putting on a comedy quiz show during a train journey was certainly a first for us, but it was a real hit with customers and a great way to kick off the festival. ‘
Glasgow was added to Lumo’s East Coast mainline route at the end of 2025,. Jen Clare, service delivery director at the train company, said: The Glasgow International Comedy Festival is a prime example of why people visit this amazing city.’
Hammer will perform multiple shows at the Glasgow International Comedy Festival, including her debut solo show Government Approved Comedian.
