Oxford property goes on the market

comedyRonnie Barker's childhood home is up for sale.

The Porridge star lived in the house in the Cowley area of Oxford from 1935, when he was five, to, 1949.

A blue plaque was put on the property five years ago by an Oxfordshire historical society.

The current owner, Zena Hamash told the Oxford Mail: ‘I get people stopping to take photographs and get comments from people delivering things. It's really nice that it's to someone who people know and love.’

Hugh Dennis filmed some scenes for a documentary about Barker there in 2013, for the BBC series My Hero.

The house is set to go on the market next week for £350,000.
