Comedy set to return after four-year absence

Here are the first images from the upcoming fourth series of The Young Offenders.

The show is set to return late this year after a four-year absence. However, despite not being on TV, the Irish comedy it has continued to  be popular on iPlayer, with 6.3million requests last year. 

Spinning off from a 2016 film, the previous three series originally aired on BBC Three, with a 2018 Christmas special seeing the show move to BBC One for the first time.

Created, written and directed by Peter Foott, the series stars  Alex Murphy and Chris Walley as tearaway Conor MacSweeney and Jock O’Keeffe; Shane Casey as local 'nutjob' Billy Murphy, Hilary Rose as Conor’s mum Mairéad  and Dominic MacHale as Sgt Tony Healy, his putative stepfather.
