Disney+ confirms series 2 launch date

The second season of the critically acclaimed comedy Abbott Elementary will drop on Disney+ on March 1, the platform has announced.

The workplace comedy following a group of dedicated, passionate teachers – and a slightly tone-deaf principal – in the Philadelphia public school system will be back for ten new episodes.

And even more will be available on Disney+ later this year.

Quinta Brunson – who recently won a Golden Globe for her role in the show  – created the series and stars as Janine Teagues.

The show airs on ABC in the US, where series 2 launched in September, but available on Disney+ in the UK.

The cast also includes Tyler James Williams as Gregory Eddie, Janelle James as Ava Coleman, Lisa Ann Walter as Melissa Schemmenti, Chris Perfetti as Jacob Hill, William Stanford Davis as Mr. Johnson, and r Sheryl Lee Ralph as Barbara Howard.
