Isy Suttie's podcast to return

...after a four-year gap

Isy Suttie’s podcast The Things We Do For Love is to return for a second series more than fours after the last.

Guests talking about their romantic pasts in the new run include Alan Davies, Jo Brand, Paterson Joseph and Bridget Christie.

Suttie and producer Ben Walker say the loon delay between series is down to ‘childbirth, book deadlines, illness and demanding real jobs’.

The first episodes were recorded live in February 2020, but the rest were further delayed by Covid, and now conducted via one-on-one video call.

Suttie said: ‘I’ve absolutely loved making this series of the podcast. I’ve learnt surprising things about my guests and myself, and I never could have predicted the twists and turns that each conversation would take. My mum, as ever, is under strict instruction not to listen."’

The show will relaunch on July 15 here with other guests comprising comics Jessica Fostekew, Tom Parry, Margaret Cabourn-Smith, Richard Herring and comedy writer Sian Harries.

It will coincide with the launch of her new novel, Jane Is Trying, the following week.

•  Mark Steel has a new topical podcast, Welcome to What The F*** Is Going On with Mark Steel, a look at the week's news with guests who have so far included Suttie, Kerry Godliman, and his son Elliot, who's also a comedian. Subscribe here.
