BRITISH COLOMBIA: A terrorist has claimed responsibility for shooting up a Canadian cafe owned by comedian Kapil Sharma on Wednesday. Harjeet Singh Laddi of the banned terror group Babbar Khalsa International, has reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack, in which no one was injured. It’s believed gunmen opened fire on the building as a message to the come over a sketch perceived as disrespectful of Sikh religious values. 

BERLIN: German comedian Sebastian Hotz, who goes by the name ‘El Hotzo,’ faces trial over social media posts about the assassination attempt on Donald Trump last year. One jokingly compared Trump to the last bus – as unfortunately both had been ‘just missed’. Another said: ‘I think it's absolutely fantastic when fascists die.’ The trail is set for July 23.

PARIS: French comedian Bun Hay Mean, who appeared in The Chef  has died at 43 after falling from a building in Paris. His agency confirmed the news on social media, posting:  ‘It is with infinite sadness that we must announce the passing of our friend, our immense artist, Bun Hay Mean. He was scheduled to leave for Montreal late this morning to perform July 11. He was so happy to be back on stage, with his audience. According to the information we have… it was while trying to retrieve his phone that had fallen into the gutter of his balcony, that Bun slipped and fell several stories. We are devastated, our thoughts are with his family, his mum, his dad, his brothers and sisters.’
