Air date for Katherine Parkinson's Sitting

Edinburgh Fringe play comes to BBC Four

BBC Four has confirmed a broadcast date for Katherine Parkinson’s debut play Sitting.

It has also been announced that the hour-long comedy-drama - to air  at 10.30pm on Wednesday April 7 - will be directed by.  Jeremy Herrin, who previously helmed Alan Bennett’s Talking Heads.

The play started life at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe, backed by a BBC Arts scheme. However the project, in conjunction with agents and producers Avalon, proved controversial for supporting already successful talent - also including Frank Skinner - rather than new faces.

The TV version stars Parkinson, Mark Weinman and Alex Jarrett  as three characters who are sitting for a silent painter. Art by award-winning figurative painter Roxana Halls will also feature.
