Jeremy Wells and Paul Williams to return

The New Zealand remake of Taskmaster has been renewed for a second series.

Taskmaster NZ features comic Jeremy Wells setting the challenges and Paul Williams as his sidekick.

The first series ran from October and December and attracted audiences of around 130,000, making it one of the country’s top ten programmes.

Broadcaster TVNZ will also air series 11 of the UK original with Greg Davies and creator series creator Alex Horne later this year, after already screening seasons 1 to 7, and ten.

Meanwhile, BBC Studios Australia has also picked up Taskmaster series ten plus the  one-off special Taskmaster’s New Year Treat to air on UKTV and SBS Viceland  down under.

The original Taskmaster programme has been sold to 94 countries, while the format has been sold to 12 with 150 local episodes being made outside the UK

Series 11 launches in the UK on Channel 4 at 9pm on March 18.
