Comedians join Australia's Squinters

Cast changes for ABC commuting comedy

The cast has been announced for the second series of Australian comedy Squinters, about the daily work commute.

Tim Minchin, the biggest star of series one will not be returning, but comedians joining the cast include Claudia O’Doherty, Anne Edmonds and 'a major American female comedic talent' yet to be named.

O'Doherty, pictured, said: 'Like Marlon Brando, my favourite acting involves remaining seated the whole time, so this is a dream role for me.'

And actor  Steven Peacocke, who is also joining the cast, added: 'The scripts are some of the best stuff I’ve read in ages. Thrilled to be a part of the series.'

Other newcomers are  Justine Clarke, Genevieve Morris, Bert LaBonte and  Ernie Dingo. 

They join returning cast Mandy McElhinney, Sam Simmons, Andrea Demetriades, Wayne Blair, Justin Rosniak, Jenna Owen, Christiaan Van Vuuren, Susie Youssef and  Rose Matafeo.

Squinters is currently shooting in Sydney and Los Angeles, and will air on the ABC next year
