Almost FaMoose

Entries open for Fringe award

Entries have opened for this year’s Amused Moose comedy award.

The accolade is aimed at acts who are ‘almost DVD/television ready’ – as opposed to the new comic award Amused Moose also runs – and was last year won by double act the Kagools.

Other previous winners include Tony Law, Marcel Lucont, Larry Dean and Richard Gadd.

The award is open to comedy shows that will be performed at least 18 times at the Edinburgh Fringe, but unlike most awards is judged on a video of a performance, usually submitted before the festival begins. Closing date is August 5.

There is no cash prize, but ‘lots of glory and awareness’, organiser Hils Jago says, stressing the ‘large number of comedy industry people worldwide’ who view entires and attend the final, which takes place in Edinburgh on August 19.

The entry form with full details is here.
