Kevin Hart to make music comedy

The Studio for Showtime

Kevin Hart is making a new comedy series based around the comings and goings of a music recording studio.

He is executive producing the show, called simply The Studio, for America's upmarket Showtime channel with rapper TI.

Both stars are also expected to make guest appearances

The Studio was created by Everybody Hates Chris writer Aeysha Carr, trade magazine Deadline reports.

And it follows the success of Donald Glover's comedy Atlanta,  about two cousins navigating their way in the Atlanta rap scene, for FX.
