Leicester Square Theatre crowns its champion

Nick Elleray has won this year's Old Comedian of the Year final title at the Leicester Square Theatre.

The Australian comic wins £1,000, with second placed  Rob Thomas taking £500 and third placed Chris McGlade scooping £250 for his political rant

Other finalsists Dave Gibson, Donna Scott, Gary Davis, Geoff Alderman, Fred Ferenczi, Jac Bevan, Javier Costales, Paul Warricker and President Obonjo.

The competition was open to anyone over 35 who has been performing for five years or more, and not making a living from comedy. 2016's winner, Joe Bor, returned to the final, hosted by Lynn Ruth Miller, for a headline set in the guise of his privileged adventurer Jasper Cromwell Jones.
