Doug Anthony All Stars announce London gig

Show follows Fringe comeback

The Doug Anthony All Stars have announced a rare London gig.

Once the bad boys of the Edinburgh Fringe, the Australian trio returned to the UK last year for what had been assumed was their swansong – and picked up a Spirit Of The Fringe award.

However, Tim Ferguson, Paul McDermott and Paul ‘Flacco’ Livingston are returning to the festival this summer with their new show, Near Death Experience. And it will be followed by a one-off at the Shepherds Bush Empire on September 1.

The former street performers were nominated for the Perrier in 1988 for their anarchic stage show, but abruptly disbanded in 1994. They re-formed in 2014, with Flacco replacing original troupe member Richard Fidler, now a broadcaster in Australia.

Their act now plays on how they are ageing and on Ferguson’s multiple sclerosis, which now requires him to use a wheelchair.

Tickets for the London show are on sale now here – and click here for our five-star review of their 2016 Edinburgh show.
