The best of the week's live comedy

The best of the week's live comedy, picked from the thousands of events Chortle currently has listed. Use our search panel to check our full listings by date and region.

Monday April 6

LONDON: American comics Mike Epps, Eddie Griffin and Marlon Wayans take over the Ovo Wembley Arena, with UK support coming from Kane Brown and Slim. Tickets

Tuesday April 7

LONDON: Jake Roche is the son of EastEnders stalwart Shane Richie and Loose Woman Colleen Nolan, and was – incredibly briefly – a bona fide boy band star before coming crashing down to earth with a bump. His show Neporrhoids!, about his Brush with tabloid fame, won good reviews at last year's Edinburgh (read ours here) and now lands at Soho Theatre for the week.

Wednesday April 8

LONDON : Meanwhile, one of Chortle's very favourite shows of last year's Edinburgh Fringe, Joz Norris's ridiculously overblown You Wait. Time Passes is also on at the Soho Theatre from today.

LONDON: Arab-Muslim-Brummy Hasan Al-Habib – as seen on the BBC's Pilgrimage this weekend – is also at Soho for two nights with his debut Death To The West (Midlands) about how his parents left Baghdad for the land of opportunity (Birmingham) and how attitudes towards him changed after Britain invaded Iraq.

Thursday April 9

BRISTOL: Gary Delaney's a joke machine – and a gigging machine. His last tour ran for 378 dates – more live shows than Nirvana did in their entire career – across two-and-a-half years. The prince of the one-liner now embarks on another, Gary On Laughing, with more than 120 dates so far on sale taking him well into 2027. But it all starts at the Redgrave Theatre tonight. Gary Delaney tour dates.

Friday April 10

LONDON: Celebrating its 18th year, the Musical Comedy Awards comes to a head with a final at Bloomsbury Theatre. The line-up includes Dru Cripps, Tom Veck, Jonny Bennett, Will and Noah, Eoghan Collins and Vinny Shiu, with a headlining set from the Sugarcoated Sisters. Tickets

Saturday April 11

LONDON: Another final for non-stand-up acts with the climax of the Leicester Square Theatre Sketch-Off. It's an afternoon gig, kicking off at 2pm and the finalists are Betty Thompson, Detective Muffins, Hamish Lloyd Barnes, Javert, Jenny and Reese, Lady Bolognese, Lily Edwards, Maya Ricote, SÜPERHAUS_COLLECTIVE/3/DISTURB.zip, The Burger Boys, The Supermalts and Walter Pitt.

LONDON: Some of the UK’s leading comedians are heading to the Union Chapel to raise money and awareness for the work of Sophie Hayes Foundation to support women survivors of modern slavery. The bill includes Katherine Ryan, Lou Sanders, Harriet Kemsley, Sara Pascoe, Joe Wilkinson, Paul Foot and Sikisa. Tickets

LONDON: In previous dates on the Stay Golden Tour, Matt Rife became the youngest comedian to sell out New York’s Madison Square Garden, as well as breaking venue records across the US. His last tour, ProbleMATTic, sold more than 600,000 tickets across 250+ shows in under 48 hours, while he released a Netflix special comprising only crowd work in December. Tonight's gig is the first of two at The O2 – he's back towards the end of the month for a run that also includes Dublin's 3Arena, Manchester's AO Arena and Glasgow's Ovo Hydro.
