Susie McCabe heads Assembly line-up so far

The first tickets for Edinburgh Fringe 2026 are going on sale this week.

On Wednesday the official festival box office opens with its first of four major tranches of shows.

But some venues make tickets available earlier, including Assembly, which  has just unveiled its first batch of 38 shows

Scottish comic – and former Sir Billy Connolly Spirit of Glasgow award winner –  Susie McCabe will be returning with her latest show Coming Of Rage. She said: ‘We will be laughing at the madness of being in my mid 40s and the state of the world.’

Fringe mainstay Rob Auton presents his new show Jupiter, while American actor and comedian  Chris Grace, as seen it the sitcom Superstore, returns to Edinburgh as part of Assembly’s comedy line-up.

Outside of stand-up, Police Cops: The Original will perform their biggest ever Fringe shows in the Gordon Aikman Theatre, while improv musicals Shamilton! The Improvised Hip-Hop Musical and  Baby Wants Candy make their regular return and musical impressionist Jess Robinson presents Elton Reimagined, with the legend’s back catalogue performed by her versions of female musical icons.

Shows in other genres include: Grease star  Stockard Channing directing a new version ion of Samuel Beckett’s classic play Krapp’s Last Tale starring W1A actor David Westhead;  the emotional two-hander play Shotgunned; theatre-wrestling spectacle Mythos Ragnaarok, acrobatics show Ten Thousand Hours and return of the rock hit 27 Club and club night Hot Dub Time Machine.

Meanwhile, the MZA comedy agency maintains its tradition of getting its shows on sale before anyone else, putting its shows on sale last Friday.  Daniel Sloss is playing two nights at the Playhouse (14 and 15) while Connor Burns, Jimeoin and Craig Hill all return to Just The Tonic Nucleus.

The Fringe runs from August 7 to 31 this year, with most previews starting on the 5th. Assembly tickets are on sale here.
