ITV adds an extra epsiode to Alan Carr's comedy

Alan Carr's sitcom Changing Ends is to get its first Christmas special.

ITV has added the extra episode to the fourth series of the semi-autobiographical comedy about his life growing up gay in Northampton.

The fourth series, which will again star Oliver Savell as the lead, is set in 1990 with a now 15-year-old Alan ‘craving independence and excitement’. Plotlines include him having an encounter with an inspiring drag queen.

ITV says that since it launched in 2023, Changing Ends has been streamed more than 26 million times and reached 11.2 million viewers. 

News of the Christmas special was broken by The Sun, which quoted a source saying: ‘Everyone's really excited there's a brand new series and Christmas special to air later this year.’

The programme is made by Baby Cow.
