Radio 4 show for Jim Smith

About his life as a working farmer

Scottish comedian Jim Smith is to front a new Radio 4 show about his day job as a working farmer in Perthshire.

In each of the five episodes, the stand-up tells anecdotes about life on his family farm to a live audience in his nearest city of Perth.

The BBC bill the show – which starts at 11pm on July 3 – as ‘an honest, behind the scenes look at what it takes to be a modern farmer’.

He previously presented the character comedy showcase Can You Hear Me Now? for Radio 4 and has appeared on its agricultural show On Your Farm. He also fronted the showcase  Scotland Stands Up over Christmas.

A finalist in So You Think You're Funny in 2014, Smith first came to wider prominence in the BBC Scotland short Farm Diaries - has amassed 9.4 million views on Facebook
