Dan Tiernan, Hayley Ellis and Jamie Hutchinson lead the field

Dan Tiernan, Hayley Ellis and Jamie Hutchinson lead the nominations in next year’s North West Comedy Awards.

The shortlists were  based on votes from those working in the comedy industry in the region, who also decide the winners

Tiernan, Ellis and Hutchinson are all up for best act and best solo show – with both categories having an identical shortlist, completed by Phil Ellis.

Tiernan, pictured, is also up for best TV and radio act,Hayley Ellis for MC and Hutchinson – co-host of the Hot Water Green Room podcast for the social media award.

The results will be revealed on January  17 at The Frog & Bucket  at a ceremony hosted by Mick Ferry.
