Bridget Christie's The Change heads to Australia

SBS snaps up mid-life comedy

Bridget Christie comedy The Change has been sold to Australia.

The series, in which the comic plays  50-year-old mother of two Linda, who heads off for adventure at the onset of menopause, will air on SBS Viceland from September 18. And the whole series will be available on SBS On Demand on the same day.

Omid Djalili stars as Linda’s husband with an ensemble cast that also includes Monica Dolan, Susan Lynch, Paul Whitehouse, Darcey Wiseman and Tanya Moodie.

The show aired on Channel 4 in the UK in June to wide critical acclaim. The Evening Standard called it ‘joyful’ and ‘immensely warm’. The Guardian said it was ‘like nothing else on TV’  and Chortle said it was ‘sardonic yet surreal… and proves itself repeatedly funny in ways large and small.’ (Full review)

Meanwhile, Christie – who also wrote The Change - is currently on tour in the UK with her stand-up show Who Am I? Bridget Christie tour dates.
