New book podcast from Sara Pascoe and Cariad Lloyd

Aimed at 'lonely outsiders'

Sara Pascoe and Cariad Lloyd are launching a book-club podcast aimed at 'lonely outsiders'

In Sara & Cariad’s Weirdos Book Club - which launches next Thursday - the comedians and guests will each week discuss a book that is ‘special, stimulating and weird’.

The pair describe the show as  ‘a space for the lonely outsider to feel accepted and appreciated’, and for book-lovers who don't like 'wine or nibbles - or other people'.

The podcast ties in with the publication of Pascoe’s debut novel, Weirdo, on September 14. She said: ‘Cariad and I have had so many interesting conversations about books that were *wasted* because no one else was even listening. That mistake is now rectified.’

And Lloyd – creator of the successful Griefcast – said: ‘I am delighted to finally be combining my favourite topics: books, weirdos, chatting, podcasts and Sara Pascoe and cannot wait for everyone to hear how much Sara and I like talking about reading.’

To mark the launch of the podcast across all the usual platfrom, the pair will present a live edition at 21Soho in London  on September 6.

Sara & Cariad’s Weirdos Book Club is produced by Plosive – the team behind podcasts including Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster, Cuddle Club with Lou Sanders and Harry Hill’s Noise.
