
Jim Jefferies to host Australian version of The 1% Club

Australia is making its own version of ITV’s The 1% Club – with Jim Jefferies hosting.
A call has gone out for contestants for the show, which whittles down an initial field of 100 people with increasingly difficult logic problems.
The show is hosted by Lee Mack in the UK and series one, which aired in April and May, attracted 4.36 million viewers, according to Barb’s seven-day viewing figures. A second series is in the pipeline.
France, Israel and the Netherlands have already made their own versions, with others coming soon to Germany and spain, too.
The top prize in the Australian version – to air on Channel 7 and 7plus next year is $100,000, about £55,000, compared to the £100,000 on offer in the UK.

• Channel 7 has also announced a new comedy series, We Interrupt This Broadcast, mocking TV programmes and internet content. The cast includes comics Christie Whelan Browne, Bridie Connell, Michelle Brasier, Adele Vuko, Duncan Fellows, Greg Larsen, Ben Russell, and Bjorn Stewart.
