MASTERMIND: So this wouldn’t normally warrant a mention in a round-up of comedy highlights, but one of the specialist subjects tonight is The Thick Of It, so fans of Armando Iannucci’s satire might want to pitch their knowledge against an expert… BBC Two, 7.30pm

THE REAL MCCOY: The groundbreaking 90s sketch show that brought a new generation of black British perspective to primetime TV gets a repeat outing. The line-up of then-young talent included Richard Blackwood, Meera Syal, Judith Jacob, Felix Dexter, Curtis Walker, Eddie Nestor, Kulvinder Ghir and Curtis Walker. Gold, 10pm – and in the same slot across this week and next.

IT’S A FAIR COP: Policeman turned comedian Alfie Moore returns with a new series of semi-hypothetical crimes to discuss with his audience, starting with a case of theft in the workplace. BBC Radio 4, 6.30pm

 MEL GIEDROYC: UNFORGIVABLE: Joining Mel and sidekick Lou Sanders this week are Charlotte Church, who spills the beans on her wild child past, Sophie Willan, who dishes out some karma and Lara Ricote reveals how she pulled off a cheese-based heist.Dave, 10pm

JON RICHARDSON: TAKE MY MOTHER-IN-LAW: The comic again mines his domestic life for TV entertainment. Here he goes on a road trip through Spain with his mother-in-law Gill somewhere to retire to – otherwise she'll just have to move in with him. Richardson has a GCSE in Spanish, while Gill has a desire to grow old disgracefully. Cue a journey that takes in sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, with some guns and cats thrown in, too. Channel 4, 10pm

THE MINDY PROJECT:  Mindy Kaling’s sitcom comes to Amazon’s free, ad-supported FreeVee channel. The show revolves around a young doctor balancing  her personal and professional life, surrounded by quirky co-workers in a small office.
