Aisling Bea joins Starman film
Starring opposite Brendan Fraser
Aisling Bea is to appear opposite Brendan Fraser and Jeff Daniels in the new sci-fi thriller movie Starman.
In it, The Whale star Fraser plays Tom Adams, who launches a historic expedition to Mars that goes wrong, stranding him millions of miles from Earth.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the news, Bea will play Julia Hanley, ‘a defiant and magnetic Irish photographer who sees past Tom’s world-changing ambition to the man beneath it, ultimately redefining his life through love’.
Starman is currently being filmed in Australia, directed by Josh Wakely from his own original screenplay. He previously created the Netflix animated series Beat Bugs, based on the songs of the Beatles, and its follow-up Motown Magic.
As well as creating her own TV comedy, This Way Up, Bea has starred alongside Nick Frost in the horror comedy Get Away and appeared in movies including Greatest Days, Love Wedding Repeat and Home Sweet Home Alone.
She will next be seen in Netflix’s adaptation of Marian Keyes’s Grown Ups.
