Brett Goldstein and Nick Mohammed up for Emmys – again

More acclaim for Ted Lasso duo

Nick Mohammed and Brett Goldstein have both been nominated for an Emmy award – again.

Goldstein won the award for best supporting actor in a comedy series last year, over his Ted Lasso co-star. Now the race will be repeated..

It is the second year running they have been shortlisted for best supporting actor in a comedy series in America’s leading TV awards – with Goldstein taking the honour

In total the Apple TV+ comedy has 20 nods, including for outstanding comedy series, for star Jason Sudeikis as lead actor in a comedy series; for  Sarah Niles, Juno Temple and Hannah Waddingham as supporting actresses and for  Toheeb Jimoh also for supporting actor

Only Succession, created by Peep Show's Jesse Armstrong, has more, with 25.

In other categories, Dave Chappelle's special The Closer has received two nominations, despite concerns about material seen as transphobic and homophobic. It is in line for best pre-recorded variety special, with Bo Burnham up for an Emmy for directing it.

Below are some of the key comedy categories, with a full list available at emmys.com
