Hugh Dennis to host More4 property show

Looking inside some of Britain's largest homes

Hugh Dennis is to host a new property series for More 4.

In Huge Homes, the actor and comedian will go inside some of the largest domestic dwellings in Britain.

They include the colossal Broughton Hall, the Staffordshire mansion owned by Phones 4U founder John Caudwell that boasts h its own private railway, to an island fort off the coast of West Wales.

In the series, the Outnumbered star and Mock The Week regular will be hands dirty with some of the tasks needed to keep the huge homes in working order – including cleaning chandeliers and six hours of hoovering.

Gill Brown, commissioning executive for Channel 4, said: ‘Hugh Dennis is the perfect tour guide around an eclectic mix of fantastic, not to mention gigantic, homes that I’m sure our More 4 audience will find fascinating.’

The four, hour-long episodes will air on More 4 later this year

Huge Homes with Hugh Dennis has been commissioned from Strawberry Blond TV, which is also making a new Channel 4 daytime format, Strangers On A Plane  – a sort of Come Dine With Me for holidays with each of five travellers taking control of the group’s activities for a day followed by a vote on who was best.
