Who could Harriet Langley-Swindon possibly be based on?

Rosie Holt is to release a new podcast in the guise of her right-wing anti-woke ‘opinionist’.

The comic has become a viral hit with her online videos, particularly those in which she plays an ultra-loyal Tory MP defending the indefensible in TV interviewers.

Her new podcast, Absolutely NonCensored, revolves around another of her alter-egos, the right wing Harriet Langley-Swindon.

Fellow comedian Brendan Murphy plays producer Martin and stand-up Eshaan Akbar promises as ‘hot and spicy take of the week’.

The blurb says: ‘You can’t say anything any more - and here to prove it is Harriet Langley-Swindon, with a round of all the best bits of her weekly radio show on a national network that can’t be named for legal reasons.’

In a teaser clip, Holt – who won the Chortle internet award this year –  explains ‘the radio show doesn’t exist but you can guess what we’ve based it on’.

LBC’s James O’Brien and Guardian writers Mel Frrizzell and Owen Jones have been lined up as real guests. O’Brien tweeted: ‘Sad & angry to report that my lawyers have failed to have this cancelled. I really regret doing it & was lured on under false pretenses. Please ignore it. And her. Especially her.’

The first episode is released on Friday.

Holt is also taking her characters – also including a left-winger wanting to say the right thing but scared of getting it wrong – to the Edinburgh Fringe with a show called The Woman's Hour at the Pleasance.
