Ellie Taylor to make a second series for Radio 4

Safe Space also features comic Robin Morgan

Ellie Taylor is to make a second series of her Radio 4 show Safe Space.

The news comes days after it was revealed that the BBC had axed The Mash Report, on which she was one of the spoof newsreaders.

For the new series of Safe Space she will again be joined by fellow stand-up Robin Morgan to share opinions on potentially controversial subjects.

In the first series, which ran in April last year and are still available on BBC Sounds, she discussed Motherhood, Masculinity, The Environment and Monogamy.

Four more half-hour episodes are to be recorded in front of a remote virtual audience next month, with free tickets available from the BBC website.

Taylor, who has a two-year-old daughter, is also writing a book about her experience of becoming a mother. My Child And Other Mistakes, due to be published in July next year, is   sub-titled: ‘How to ruin your life in the best way possible.’

Another Mash Report alumnus, Geoff Norcott, is also recording a Radio 4 show. The stand-up special It's OK To Change Your Mind will consider how political convictions have shifted because of the coronavirus, with a Conservative government intervening in people’s lives on an unprecedented scale and  Remainers denouncing the EU over its vaccine response. The show is being recorded on April 7 and tickets to be in the remote virtual audience are available from Standing Room Only.
