Playing a 'pompous, cruel and petty' man
Steve Coogan has joined the second series of BBC comedy Funboys.
The broadcaster has released an image of him in a period costume to promote the forthcoming series.
He plays Phillip, a frustrated actor who works at an immersive folk museum, where his role is to portray a pompous and cruel land steward.
Producers MayHay Studio say: ‘Pompous, cruel and petty, the line between Phillip and the land steward he plays is a very thin one and his role at the folk park is more just an excuse to let his pungent sadism run riot.’
Funboys launched on BBC Three in February last year and follows the misadventures of three best friends Callum (Ryan Dylan), Jordan (Rian Lennon) and Lorcan (Lee R James) in the small Northern Irish town of Ballymacnoose

Lennon and Dylan wrote the show, which will pick up with the trio as they flounder their way into adulthood, with the official blurb asking: ‘But can these silly fellas finally put their big man pants on?’
Lennon said: ‘If Funboys Season One was a freshly born fawn, skittering around in its own amniotic sack, then season two is a sinewy young buck galloping through forests thick, leaping into the unknown and screaming "Hawwwwww!"’
Dylan added: ‘Please take your time with Funboys Series 2. Enjoy every suck, smack and sniff, and allow this succulent comedy to slide down your gullet and into your soul.’
No broadcast date has yet been confirmed for the second season, which comprises four half-hour episodes.
