Netflix pulls its mammoth comedy festival

...just two weeks after announcing it

Netflix has been forced to pull its mammoth comedy festival just two months after announcing it.

The streaming giant had planned more than 100 shows in 20 venues across Los Angeles from April 27 – but has pulled the plug following the ongoing coronavirus scare.

In a statement, the company said: ‘Based on the latest CDC [Centers for Disease Control] guidelines we’ve decided to postpone our Netflix Is A Joke Fest, which was scheduled to begin April 27. 

‘We’ve been blown away by the excitement from fans and we will work to reschedule the Fest when we can. 

‘In the meantime please everyone take care, hold onto your tickets and we look forward to seeing you all soon. More information for ticket holders will be available in the weeks ahead.’

Acts lines up to take part included Amy SchumerBill BurrJerry SeinfeldChris Rock, Billy Crystal, Dave ChappelleSarah Silverman, Whoopi Goldberg– and even Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.
