FLEABAG is set to return to the Edinburgh Fringe – but without its creator Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Another actress will take her role when the original stage show is performed as part of the British Council’s Showcase programme from August 21 to 26. The show was first performed at the 2013 Fringe, before being adapted into the acclaimed BBC Three comedy.

TRIBUTES have been paid to variety producer Duggie Chapman, who died on Saturday at the age of 81. Bobby Ball called him a ‘showbiz legend’, adding: ‘I loved that man – rest in peace buddy.’ And Jimmy Cricket described him as a ‘great theatrical producer’, especially of pantomime.

STUPID MAN, Smart Phone, the BBC Three series in which Russell Kane and an online personality were dropped in remote locations with only a cellphone to survive, was name best multi-platform format at the C21 2017 International Format Awards in Cannes at the weekend.

THE Adam Buxton podcast,  The Beef & Dairy Network Podcast, Do The Right Thing, Richard Herring's Leicester Square Theatre Podcast and The Scummy Mummies Podcast have all been nominated in the comedy category of the British Podcast Awards. Winners are announced on April 29.
