Channel 5 launches topical stand-up show

Hosted by Ian Stone with top circuit names

Channel 5 is to make a weekly topical stand-up show for its digital channel My5.

Ian Stone will host Comedy Bigmouths, which will feature fellow comedians Zoe Lyons, Geoff Norcott, Ian Moore and Jo Caulfield as regulars.

Guest comics will also make an appearance, including Ross Noble, Russell Kane, Clive Anderson and Sara Pascoe.

Each show will be filmed in the week of transmission on the My5 TV channel, which is primarily a catch-up service for Channel 5 shows..

Channel manager Chris Neilson said: ‘My5 TV looks to be responsive at every opportunity and comedy is an excellent device to capture the talking points of the week.

‘I’m thrilled with our line-up across the series, we have some of the sharpest minds in comedy who will put their own unique spin on world events of the last seven days.’

Comedy Bigmouths, which will be filmed at the BT Sport studio in London, is My5’s first foray into original programming.

The show is being made by Polymath Media, and executive producer Martin Perry said: ‘We’re thrilled to be My5’s first original programming commission and with the line-up of comedians booked throughout the series I’m sure the show will really hit home on Friday nights’.
