Russell Brand announces new stand-up tour

Re:Brand inspired by the birth of his daughter

Russell Brand has announced a new tour – inspired by him becoming a father for the first time.

The comedian, who is engaged to Laura Gallacher,  became a father to baby Mabel in November.

In Re:Birth, he vows to ‘unravel the matrix of modern media, politics, sex, fatherhood and death’ as he ‘tries to make sense of life having just made a new one’.

Describing the show, Brand said: ‘How do we make sense of the madness of our lives once we become parents? What am I going to tell my daughter about conformity and responsibility? What happens if she grows up to be like me or, worse, date someone like me?’

The 71-date tour of theatres across UK and Ireland will kick off in Cambridge on April 4 and occupy him until November next year, when it ends in Blackpool. The full list of dates is here.

It is the first time he has been on the road since Messiah Complex in 2013.

Tickets will go on sale from 10am on February 3.
