Bob Mortimer gets the all-clear to tour

The show WILL go on....

Bob Mortimer has been given the all-clear to return to the stage.

The comedian had a triple heart bypass in October, forcing him to cancel the first leg of his tour with Vic Reeves.

But medics have now told the 56-year-old he is fit enough to continue with the second leg, scheduled to kick off in Leeds on January 30.

He tweeted last night: 'Doctors just passed me fit to do second leg of tour next month.'

And Reeves tweeted under his real name of Jim Moir: 'Yes, yes, we're doing it. Here we come. Pull your pants up nice and high.'

The Poignant Moments Tour, marking the 25th anniversary of their comic partnership, is the duo's first live tour since 1994.

The first leg was pulled just days before it was due to kick off in Glasgow, after three consultants told Mortimer he had to have the operation immediately.
