And promoted to BBC Two

Simon Day’s spoof rock legend Brian Pern is returning for a second series – this time on BBC Two.

Three new episodes of a new season, tentatively titled Rock Apocalypse, have been commissioned following a successful BBC Four run earlier this year.

Day tweeted today: ‘Brian Pern will [be] on BBC Two this time around people, channel hopping is all the rage these days.’

Co-star Rhys Thomas confirmed the news, while tweeting that a BBC Two rerun of the original Life Of Rock With Brian Pern episodes might also be on the cards.

The first series included such guest stars as Peter Gabriel, Rick Wakeman and Phil Collins as well as comics such as Matt Lucas, Vic & Bob and Al Murray.

Radio Times reports that the three episodes in the second series will focus on Christmas songs, music festivals and jukebox musicals.
