A tight 5: December 6

Mitch Benn is to turn his Edinburgh show Mitch Benn is the 37th Beatle into a Radio 4 comedy. The programme, in which the Liverpool-born comic parodies Fab Four songs as he explores his own tenuous connections to the band, is to be recorded in London next month. Free tickets.

JOSH WIDDICOMBE has taken over hosting duties for Channel 4’s Twitter-based review of 2013, Twit Of The Year. Last week the broadcaster named Jack Dee as the host, but has now confirmed that the 30-year-old will be presenting the show. It will be recorded in London next week.

CHORTLE is to showcase the best of 2013’s emerging comedians in a one-off gig in London later this month. It will be compered by Edinburgh best newcomer nominee Aisling Bea. Tickets

ALL 1,400 tickets for the Glasgow Stands Up for The Clutha benefit for those affected by Friday’s helicopter crash sold out in five hours, raising almost £20,000 raised for the Lord Provost's Appeal Fund.

BBC Four has ordered a second series of Some People With Jokes, in which members of the public share their favourite gag. Producers have put out a call for Irish men and women based in England to take part in the first show. Apply to info@castinghouse.co.uk
