Chris Addison to be a porn editor

In Steve Coogan film King Of Soho

Chris Addison has landed a major role in the new Steve Coogan film about London porn baron Paul Raymond.

The stand-up is just about to start shooting michael Winterbottom's The King of Soho, playing an editor of one of Raymond's hardcore magazine.

It is his third major acting job after Skins and The Thick Of It and its big screen spin-off In The Loop.

This morning, Addison tweeted: 'So this month I shall be being Ollie in TTOI and Paul Raymond's porn editor in King of Soho. I guess I just play men who work with tits.'

No further details are known of the role, but Raymond's most high-profile editor was Pierre Perrone, who was fired after resisting pressure to make Men Only more explicit, with more graphic, close-up pictures.

Last week, Dara O Briain revealed he, too, had a cameo in the film... playing a comedian.

Others in the cast include Anna Friel, who plays Paul Raymond's wife Jean, Tamsin Egerton, who will be his mistress Fiona, and Him And Her star Sarah Solemani, who plays a character called Anna.

Coogan previously worked with Winterbottom on 24 Hour Party People, Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story, and The Trip. Raymond amassed a £1.5billion fortune from adult entertainment, nightclubs – and investing in the central London property market. His Revuebar was a significant venue in the early days of alternative comedy, as it was home to The Comic Strip troupe that included Rik Mayall, Adrian Edmondson, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.
