ITV picks up Seinfeld's Marriage Ref

But Jo Brand won't be hosting

ITV is to make a British version of Jerry Seinfeld’s reality show The Marriage Ref.

But Jo Brand, who hosted a pilot episode earlier this year, will be replaced by X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary when it goes to air. Brand is likely to remain as a regular panelist, trade magazine Broadcast reports.

ITV1 has ordered seven hour-long episodes of the show, in which a celebrity jury decide whether the husband or wife is in the wrong in a classic marital row.

Despite attracting celebrities such as Larry David, Madonna and Ricky Gervais, the NBC original was critically panned last year and attracted only modest ratings. Nonetheless, a second series was commissioned.
