Work starts on Vegas's third movie

Filming has started on Johnny Vegas's latest film.

Cheeky is a black comedy directed by the British actor David Thewlis, best known for his role in Mike Leigh's Naked.

Thewlis stars in the movie as a widowed toy shop owner who meets a new woman on a TV quiz show.

Sting's wife Trudie Styler, who is producing the film, also appears in it, ScreenDaily reports.

It is the third movie to feature Vegas, the former star of the adverts for the ill-fated ITV Digital.

He is starring alongside The Royle Family's Ricky Tomlinson in The Virgin of Liverpool, about a 12-year-old girl who campaigns to rescue a statue of the Virgin Mary.

And this week he has been in Devon filming a role Mel Smith's next project, Blackball.
