Daisy May Cooper's not returning to Buzzcocks
Sophie Willan is a permanent replacement
Daisy May Cooper has permanently stepped down from Never Mind The Buzzcocks, with Sophie Willan taking over as team captain.
The Alma’s Not Normal star has previously stood in for the This Country co-creator while she was on maternity leave ahead of the birth of her third child, a son called Benji, last June.
Sky has now confirmed the substitution will be permanent when the rebooted format returns for a fifth series.
Noel Fielding will be retuning as the other team captain. There had been speculation about his role since he unexpectedly quit Apple TV+ comedy The Completely Made-Up Adventures Of Dick Turpin three-quarters of the way through production, causing the series to be scrapped.
Greg Davies will be back as host with Jamali Maddix as a regular panellist.
Never Mind The Buzzcocks ran on the BBC from 1996 to 2015, with Sky reviving the format in 2021.
