Rosie Jones cast in new stage play
As the 'playful narrator CripGod'
Rosie Jones is to appear in a new stage production that aims to tackle perceptions around disability and sex with humour and honesty.
The comedian joins actor Ed Larkin in (We Indulge In) A Bit Of Roll Play, which runs at the Tramway, Glasgow, next month.
It follows Ben, a young disabled man played by Larkin, as he navigates life with his parents, university and an on-off relationship. Jones plays CripGod, a playful narrator who guides Ben from isolation to self-empowerment.
Producers say Jones, ‘brings her trademark unapologetic humour to the production… [which] begins as a sharp domestic comedy evolves into a more poignant theatrical piece.’
The cast also includes Zoe Hunter, Alan Mackenzie, Ava Duncan, street performer Freak the Clown and burlesque performer Indrid Heron, among others
Produced by the Birds of Paradise company, the show was written by Hana Pascal Keegan, Gabriella Sloss, and Robert Softley Gale and runs from February 19 to 21.
