Steve Coogan and Fleabag’s Sian Clifford are among the guest stars in the second series of Ellie White and Natasia Demetriou’s sketch show, it has been revealed.

The BBC has today confirmed that the show will be returning to BBC Two and iPlayer from October 21, more than four years after the first series aired, and three years after the recommission was announced.

Coogan appears to be playing a chimney sweep in a contemporary setting, this image from the show seems to suggest.

Also guest starring are  Natasia’s brother Jamie, W1A’s Hugh Skinner, Kiell Smith-Bynoe and – as Chortle reported earlier this year –  Asim Chaudhry.

In a statement, White and Demetriou said: ‘We had a lot of people begging to be in the show, and sadly lots of them didn't make the cut but the ones that did were definitely the funniest and best looking and transferred the most cash into our bank accounts.

‘So massive congratulations to the likes of Messrs and Mmes - Sian Clifford, Vikki Pepperdine, Jamie Demetriou, Dustin Demri-Burns, Barney White, Seb Cardinal, Kiell Smith-Bynoe, Alex Owen, Rosa Robson, Hugh Skinner, Asim Chaudhry and many more including an up-and-coming comedian who we both have been championing for a while: Steve Coogan - expect big things from him!’

The BBC says the new series of  Ellie And Natasia ‘will see the return of fan favourites such as the ambitious Internet Nails entrepreneurs, Donna and Nikki, ready to scale their hilariously flawed beauty empire to dizzying new heights’

The show's progress through the BBC has always been slow - it was first piloted eight years ago.
