Flight Of The Conchords star Jemaine Clement writes TV series

Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry and Natasia Demetriou are to star in a TV remake of the comedy horror film What We Do In The Shadows.

American network FX has ordered a half-hour pilot based on the 2014 mockumentary film co-written, co-directed and starring Flight Of The Conchords star Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi.

The film was about a group of vampires who live together in Wellington, New Zealand, and struggling with mundane day-to-day existence.

It earned $6.9 million at the box office on a $1.6 million budget, Hollywood website Deadline reports.

Both Clement and Waititi will direct and executive produce the TV version, which also stars Harvey Guillen from the Netflix series Haters Back Off.

Novak will play Nandor, the alpha-vampire; Berry plays the comically stupid Lazslo; and Demetriou the ‘badass’ Nadja.

Clement and Flight Of The Conchords co-star Bret McKenzie are heading to the UK for a tour in March, which will be filmed for an  HBO special.
