Lenny Rush in BBC adaptation of Eric Morecambe's book

The BBC has revealed the first clip of its adaptation of Eric Morecambe's book The Reluctant Vampire on what would have been the late comedian's 100th birthday.

Scripted by Alan Partridge writers Rob and Neil Gibbons, the show stars Lenny Rush as Val trying to live up to his father Victor’s (Tom Davis's) high expectations.

The clip released today features Bill Bailey and Ross Noble as gargoyles.


The cast also feature Sian Clifford as Val's doting mum Valeeta, Joe Wilkinson as a werewolf and Asim Chaudhry as the family's assistant.

Leading the villagers’ charge and ready to raise a little hell against the bloodsuckers is John, (Charlie Cooper), his wife Susan, (Esther Smith) and   daughter Gertie  (Ellie-May Sheridan).

The six half-hour episodes will air on BBC One later this year.
