First look at Larry David's new sketch series

History-themed show coming to HBO

HBO has released the first sketch from  Larry David's new historical sketch series.

The scene shows the Curb Your Enthusiasm creator playing a man in Times Square on VJ Day, moments after the famous photograph of a sailor kissing a woman in the street.

But his efforts to do the same are less well received, and he ends up being called a 'pervo-Nazi'.

The sketch was unveiled at the SXSW festival in Texas where the title of the show was revealed to be Life, Larry & The Pursuit of Unhappiness.

The seven-episode series – executive produced by Barack and Michelle  Obama – will co-star  the likes of Bill Hader (who plays Abraham Lincoln), Kathryn Hahn, Jon Hamm, Sean Hayes, Susie Essman and Vince Vaughan. The former President will also make an appearance.

Due to premiere on June 26, Life, Larry & The Pursuit of Unhappiness is the first project David has worked on since Curb ended in 2024 after 12 seasons.
