Weird: The Al Yankovic Story - the full trailer

Starring Daniel Radcliffe as the musical comedian

Here’s the full trailer for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, starring  Daniel Radcliffe as the American musical comedian.

It starts with his parents telling the young oddball to ‘stop being who you are and doing the things you love’ – but they cannot stop him sneakily reading accordion magazines and pursuing his passion for rewriting the lyrics to pop songs.

The teaser also shows him being seduced by Madonna (Evan Rachel Wood), who becomes a bad influence on him as his star rises.

Rainn Wilson from The Office plays ‘Weird’ Al’s manager Dr Demento, in a cast that also includes comedian Quinta Brunson as Oprah Winfrey and The Last Man on Earth’s Will Forte.

The tagline to the movie calls 'Weird’ Al the man who changed music... literally.

The film promises to expose Yankovic’s famously depraved lifestyle’ – although in real life, he is known for being a polite, shy,  practising  Christian who refrains from swearing, alcohol, and drugs.

Yankovic - who co-wrote the film with its director Eric Appel – previously said: ‘I am absolutely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe will be portraying me in the film. I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the role future generations will remember him for.’

‘Weird' Al is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time, and has won five  Grammys. He is one of only three artists to have had their own top 40 hits in each of the last four decades, the other two being Michael Jackson and Madonna.

The film is set to be released on November 4 on The Roku Channel in the US, but there is no news on whether it will be available in the UK.
