Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost

Trailer for Ben Stiller's film about his comedian parents

Apple has unveiled the trailer for the forthcoming documentary feature Ben Still has made about his parents Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.

The pair were big in the 1960s and 1970s with frequent appearances on TV variety shows such as The Ed Sullivan Show – while Meara played Veronica Rooney, a cook on the hit sitcom Archie Bunker's Place from 1979 to 1982.

Their joint career petered out in the mid-1980s but Stiller saw a late-career resurgence a decade later, playing Frank Costanza on  Seinfeld, and then Arthur Spooner on  The King of Queens.

Directed by Ben, Stiller & Meara: Nothing is Lost is set to premiere in some cinemas and stream globally on Apple TV+ from October 24.

It also features his sister Amy Stiller, wife Christine Taylor-Stiller and stars Christopher Walken and Stephen Colbert.

Apple says: ‘Ben Stiller tells the story of his parents, comedy icons Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara, exploring their impact both on popular culture and at home, where the lines between creativity, family, life and art often blurred.

‘In the process, Stiller turns the camera on himself and his family to examine Jerry and Anne’s enormous influence on their lives, and the generational lessons we all can learn from those we love.’
