Teaser clip for Ricky Gervais: Supernature

As Netflix sets launch date

Ricky Gervais is ironically sexist in the first clip from his new special Supernature.

In it, he mentions all the ‘funny female comedians’ then struggles to name any.

The gag has echoes of the episode of Extras – released in 2006 – when his character Andy Millman couldn’t name one British black comedian who was funny, despite standing next to a picture of Lenny Henry.

Netflix has released the teaser as it announced the show will drop on May 24.

Gervais had performed half of his Supernature tour before being shut down by the pandemic in 2020, resuming 18 months later.

It comes four years after his previous Netflix stand-up special, Humanity.
