The Kids in the Hall official trailer

Cult sketch troupe make a comeback via Amazon Prime Video

Amazon's Prime Video has released the official trailer for the return of The Kids In The Hall.

The cult Canadian sketch troupe are returning with eight new episodes on May 13.

The trailer starts with the team - Dave Foley, Kevin McDonald, Bruce McCulloch, Mark McKinney and Scott Thompson - emerging from a grave.

And early on in the trailer they bite the hand that's funding them, with one character being asked: 'Who's financing this time, the devil again?'

'Sort of,' he replies. 'Amazon.'

The trailer also acknowledges the troupe's reputation for politically incorrect comedy that flies against modern sensibilities – and the fact it's an all-male team, who frequently dress up as women when required.
The Kids In The Hall originally formed in Toronto in 1984 and made five TV series between 1988 and 1994, airing on CBC in Canada HBO and CBS in the States.

The new series will revive their recurring characters and introduce some new ones, and will be executive produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, the man who first brought the gang to TV.

The troupe previously reunited for a narrative comedy series called Death Comes To Town, inspired by The League Of Gentleman, in 2010.

Here is our review of a revival show the troupe performed live at the 2007 Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, early in their comeback.
