Russell Howard makes his Colbert debut

Stand-up slot ahead of his US tour

Russell Howard made his stand-up debut on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night.

The comic asked the big questions - like, 'is Vladimir Putin controlling Britain's sex toys?' - during his routine, which also took potshots at Boris Johnson and our tendency to use animals in inappropriate analogies.

He was the first stand-up to perform in person on the show since the pandemic began, adding to his tally of previous appearances on late-night shows hosted by Jimmy Fallon, James Corden and Conan O’Brien.

Howard was on the Late Show as the US leg of his world tour, Respite, kicks off at Big Laugh Comedy in Austin, Texas, on March 11.
