Seinfeld: The official Netflix trailer

Streaming platform introduces its 'hot new show'

It may have been one of the most successful sitcoms of all time, but Netflix are treating Seinfeld  as a brand-new show in their trailer for the series.

'Get ready for this fall's hottest new show,' runs the advert heralding the arrival of the comedy on the streaming service from October 1.

Perhaps appealing to a younger audience who missed the show's original run from 1989 to 1998, the platform bills its arrival as a '180-episode premiere'.

And its tagline is: 'We all have that one friend. Meet four of them': introducing Kramer, George and Elaine as well as the titular comedian.

Netflix reportedly shelled out $500 million for worldwide rights to the influential series.
